A peaceful night’s rest

Sharing is Caring

After my morning cup of coffee I had a positive feeling of contentment and felt I am exactly where I am supposed to be as I plan towards my escape from Corporate America and the start of a new life away from the big city.

After abstaining from alcohol my sleep last night was deep and restful. I was tired and went to bed early and slept soundly for nearly 10 hours. I never realized just how important sleep is to your body and mind and have only recently discovered its benefits and the tremendous improvement it has on your mind and well being. I typically get up very early and this morning was no different as I was up at 5 AM preparing for work. I have to drive about 30 minutes to work and at that time of the morning I can pretty much get on the interstate and set the cruise control until I hit my exit. I like to drive in silence without the sound of the radio and lose myself in thought and meditation.

I read a passage in the Bible (Acts 20:22) about heading to a new and unknown destination and the uncertainty of not knowing what will happen. The passage supported the feelings I am having about this new life and I feel this is something God is leading me towards. It was cold but beautiful this morning and I was able to take a 10 minute walk outside and reflected on what I was feeling. A smile came over my face as I felt hope I am on the right path.
