My daughter nearly died on multiple occasions as her heroin addiction had completely taken her over. On two occasions in the emergency room, I was forced to try and restrain her as she writhed in pain and agony as withdrawal symptoms ravished her body. At check-in, after months of malnutrition, she weighed 76 pounds and was nearly unrecognizable.
