Tough Mudder, Hugo, Minnesota

Erik and three of the cousins tackled the Tough Mudder 13 mile obstacle course race this past summer which was held north of Minneapolis in Hugo. The race features over 20 obstacles the runners need to complete like this serious ramp which stopped numerous contestants. To complete the race each team is forced to work together and nearly everyone needed some assistance being pulled over the top of the ramp by a team mate.

It was tough for us to see all of the course but we did see this part where contestants sloshed through a series of water and mud filled bogs. Actually due to the surprising heat this day I think folks were enjoying this part of the race!

The boys are young and in good shape so the race didn\’t totally destroy them but a couple did state they \”could have been better prepared\”.  A couple of us old guys, probably feeling motivated after a few craft beers, claimed we \”want to do it next year\”. Perhaps upon reflection we will come to our senses.

We were also able to hit Uncle Don\’s 90th birthday party which was advertised by this incredible sign. The get together culminated another great trip to Minnesota to visit with our family.
