Denton, TX

Denton is a hip, vibrant college town north of Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas and home to The University of North Texas and Texas Women\’s University. Although it has grown into a large city you don\’t have to travel too far to suddenly find yourself going back in time to it\’s rural heritage. Annette and I had just finished walking on the Clear Creek Natural Heritage trail and drove by this old farm just down the road. Actually the area is one nice farm after another but this one with the old wind mill and a small church with it\’s steeple jutting out really stood out. Denton is a really cool town and area and if you like the outdoors head east to pick up the trails that run along the Trinity River for 25 miles. Pretty flat and an easy walk but you are really out in a forest with abundant wildlife and nature as it was thousands of years ago. We saw a deer and tracks of some seriously large animal (wild boar perhaps?) and there is no telling what roams the area at night. Another good day exploring the area and definitely a trail we will visit again.\"11
